En Kation (n.) is en Ion, wat positiv oplaadt is. Dat heet tomeist, dat dat en Atom is, wo een oder ok mehr Elektronen in de Elektronenhüll fehlen doot.

- Aluminium-Ion Al2+
- Blie-Ion Pb4+
- Sülver-Ion Ag+
- Iesen-Ion Fe2+
- Iesen-Ion Fe3+
Dat gifft aver ok Molekülen, de Kationen billt. To’n Bispeel ward ut NH3 NH4+, wenn dat en Proton H+ opnimmt.
Bi en Elektrolys wannert de Kationen na de Kathood, wat de Minuspol is. Dorvun heet se ok Kationens.
