Jurang Jepun ialah sebuah jurang lautan yang menganggotai Lingkaran Api Pasifik, di dasar laut utara Lautan Pasifik dekat timur laut Jepun. Ia menjangkau dari Kepulauan Kuril hingga Kepulauan Bonin dan kedalaman maksimumnya 9,000 meter (29,500 ka). [perlu rujukan] Ia bersambung dengan Jurang Kuril-Kamchatka di utara, dan Jurang Izu-Ogasawara di selatan dengan kepanjangan 800 km (500 bt).[1] Jurang ini terbentuk apabila Plat Pasifik terbenam di bawah keping benua Okhotsk. Proses pembenaman ini menyebabkan plat yang menurun itu lentur, maka terbentuknya jurang laut dalam. Pergerakan yang berterusan di zon benam yang berhubung dengan Jurang Jepun ini merupakan salah satu punca utama tsunami dan gempa bumi di utara Jepun, gempa bumi dan tsunami Tōhoku yang berlaku pada 11 Mac 2011.[2]
