इस्लाम धर्माच्या प्रार्थनास्थळास मशीद असे म्हणतात. मशीद या शब्दाचा अर्थ प्रणाम करण्याची जागा असा होतो. मशिदीमध्ये नमाज पठण केले जाते. मुस्लिम स्थापत्यकला व मुस्लिम विद्यापीठे यांचा निर्मिती व विकास मशिदीमध्येच झाला.
