अज्ञातवास

१२ वर्षांच्या वनवासानंतर १ वर्ष अज्ञातवास पांडवांना पूर्ण करायचा होता. अज्ञातवास म्हणजे कोणाच्याही नजरेस पडणार नाही अशा ठिकाणी राहणे. जर त्यांची ओळख पटली तर तो अज्ञातवास भंग पावेल. म्हणून या काळात पांडव आपले मुळ स्वरूप सोडून वेषांतर करून विराट राजाच्या नगरीत वास्तव्यास राहिले.
