ന്യൂ ഗിനിയ

തെക്കു പടിഞ്ഞാറ് പസഫിക്കിലുള്ള ഒരു ദ്വീപാണ് ന്യൂ ഗിനിയ (New Guinea). വലിപ്പത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഗ്രീൻലാന്റിനു പിന്നിൽ രണ്ടാമതുള്ള ന്യൂ ഗിനിയ പൂർണ്ണമായും ദക്ഷിണാർദ്ധഗോളത്തിലാണു സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഈ ദ്വീപിന്റെ കിഴക്കൻ ഭാഗം പാപുവ ന്യൂ ഗിനിയയുടെയും പടിഞ്ഞാറുഭാഗം ഇന്തോനേഷ്യയുടെയും ഭാഗമാണ്.
