ചുള്ളിപ്രാണി

ചുള്ളിക്കമ്പിനു സമാനമായ രൂപമുള്ള ഷഡ്പദമാണു ചുള്ളിപ്രാണി.The Phasmatodea (sometimes called Phasmida)എന്നാണ് ഇവ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത് 8 സെ.മീ വരെ ഇതിനു നീളമുണ്ടാവാറുണ്ട്. സസ്യശിഖരങ്ങളിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരുന്ന് ശത്രുക്കളിൽ നിന്ന് രക്ഷപെടുവാൻ ഇവയുടെ രൂപം ഇവയെ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.

ചിറകുകളൂള്ള ഇനങ്ങൾക്ക് അല്പദൂരം പറക്കുവാനും കഴിയും. ഇവയിലെ എല്ലാ ഇനത്തിനും ചിറകുകളില്ല. ചുള്ളിപ്രാണിക്ക് തവിട്ടു നിറമാണ്.
