1988ലെ മികച്ച ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിനുള്ള കേരളസംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ പുരസ്കാരം,രവീന്ദ്രൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ഒരേതൂവൽ പക്ഷികൾ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിനാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്.[1]. രുക്മിണി എന്ന ചിത്രം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത കെ. പി. കുമാരൻ മികച്ച സംവിധായകനായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. പിറവി എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ പ്രേംജി മികച്ച നടനായും രുക്മിണി എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ അഭിനയത്തിനു അഞ്ജു മികച്ച നടിയായും തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[2]
