പ്രവാചകൻ മുഹമ്മദ് നബിയുടെ ശിഷ്യരിൽ പ്രമുഖനാണ് കഅബ് ബിൻ സുഹൈർ. പ്രസിദ്ധമായ പ്രവാചക പ്രകീർത്തന കാവ്യമായ ബാനത്ത് സുആദയുടെ രചയിതാവാണ് സുഹൈർ[1]. ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനന വർഷം കൃത്യമായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ടില്ല. മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത് ഹിജ്റ 24 ക്രിസ്തു വർഷം 662. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇസ്ലാമികാശ്ലേഷണം ഉണ്ടായത് പ്രവാചക ജീവിതത്തിലെ അവസാന നാളുകളിലാണ്[2].
