Epiophlebiidae എന്ന കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഏക ജനുസ്സാണ് എപിയോഫ്ലെബിയ (Epiophlebia). ഇവയെ ചിലപ്പോൾ Epiprocta ഉപനിരക്കു കീഴെയുള്ള Epiophlebioptera-യിലോ Anisozygoptera എന്ന ഉപനിരയിലോ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. ഇവയെ കല്ലൻ തുമ്പികൾക്കും സൂചിത്തുമ്പികൾക്കും ഇടയിലുള്ള ഒരു വിഭാഗമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. നാലിനം തുമ്പികളാണ് ഇതുവരെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഇതിൽ Epiophlebia laidlawi ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഡാർജിലിങ്ങിലാണ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്. മറ്റു മൂന്നു ഇനങ്ങളും (Epiophlebia diana, Epiophlebia sinensis, Epiophlebia superstes) തമ്മിൽ ഇവ വളരെ വ്യത്യസ്തമാണെങ്കിലും അവയുടെ ജീവിത ചക്രങ്ങൾ സാദൃശ്യമുള്ളവയാണ്‌.[1][2][3][4]
