Linolskābe (cis,cis-9,12-oktadekadiēnskābe, CH3(CH2)4CH=CHCH2CH=CH(CH2)7COOH) pieder pie nepiesātinātajām karbonskābēm ar divām divkāršajām saitēm molekulā (omega-6 taukskābe). Tīra linolskābe ir bezkrāsains, eļļains šķidrums, parasti gan linolskābe ir iedzeltena, jo gaisā viegli oksidējas.

Linolskābei ir liela bioķīmiska nozīme kā svarīgai neaizstājamajai taukskābei (taukskābei, kas obligāti jāuzņem ar barību). Linolskābe nepieciešama prostaglandīnu biosintēzei; tā ietilpst šūnu membrānu lipīdu sastāvā. Linolskābi glicerīdu un fosfatīdu veidā (līdz 40—60%) satur daudzas augu eļļas un dzīvnieku tauki (saulespuķu, kokvilnas, sojas, kaņepju, linu eļļas). No linu eļļas cēlies linolskābes nosaukums (latīņu: linum — 'lini'). Linolskābi satur arī vaļu un storu tauki, kā arī olas dzeltenuma lecitīns.
Reducējot linolskābi ar jodūdeņražskābi un fosforu, iegūst stearīnskābi. Gaisā linolskābe ātri oksidējas un sabiezē.
Lieto ziepju, emulgatoru, ātri žūstošu eļļu ražošanā. Izmanto arī kosmētikā, jo linolskābe labvēlīgi iedarbojas uz ādu.
