Lēkums (angļu: hop) ir starpposms savienojumu ķēdē starp divām datoru tīkla iekārtām. Piemēram, internetā datu paketei ir jāiziet cauri vairākiem maršrutētājiem, pirms tā sasniedz savu gala mērķi. Katru reizi, kad pakete tiek pārsūtīta uz nākamo maršrutētāju, notiek lēkums. Jo vairāk lēkumu, jo ilgāk pakete ceļos līdz gala mērķim.[1] Šo posmu skaitu, kas ceļā no nosūtītāja līdz saņēmējam jāveic paketei, sauc par lēkumu skaitu (angļu: hop count).[2] Lai izvairītos no datortīklu pārslogošanas, parasti ir noteikts maksimālais lēkumu skaits, kuru sasniedzot pakete tālāk pārsūtīta vairs netiek. IPv4 protokolā to sauc par dzīvlaiku (angļu: time to live).[3] Internetā, lai noskaidrotu, cik daudz lēkumu ir starp avota un mērķa adresēm, var izmantot traceroute/tracepath komandas.
