Thoë in mythologia Graeca fuit una e Nereidibus, filiis Nerei dei marini, e Doride genitis, si Hygino credimus; enumeratur enim inter sorores ab hoc auctore in libro cuius titulus est Fabulae.[1]. Hyginus enim ita Poëtam Iliadis lexit: "Νησαίη Σπειώ τε Θόη θ' Ἁλίη τε βοῶπις".[2] Sed idem fere versus apud Hesiodum aliter legitur: "Κυμοθόη Σπειώ τε θοὴ Θαλίη τ' έρόεσσα", nomen "Thoë" in adiectivum "celer" mutans.[3] Thoë etiam inter Oceanides enumeratur.[4]
