Tau Ceti (τ Cet) est stella Sole nostro haud dissimilis, sla 11,89 nec plura distans, et inter stellas splendidissimas constellationis Eridani decima. Enumeratione systematum stellarium proximorum locum vigesimum tertium tenet. Magnitudinem apparentem 3,49 monstrat. Stella habet discum protoplanetarium planetasque plures, quorum quattuor intra zonam habitabilem circuire censentur.
