Stadium (Graece στάδιον) est mensura longitudinis Graeca usitatissima. Stadium dicebatur esse iter, quod homo sole oriente inter primum radium apparentem et totum discum Solis iam visibilem factum gradibus non citioribus non tardioribus transire potest.
Stadium 800 spithamis, 600 pedibus Graecis, 100 orgyiis, 30 plethris compositum est; 12 stadia dolichum, 30 stadia parasangem constituunt.
Diversa stadia antiquitus exsistebant. Stadium Atticum 1177,6 metra aequabatur, stadium Aegyptium (Ptolemaeorum aevo) 185 m habuit.
