Fictio (a fingendo) est ingeniosum litteraturae genus, unus ex quattuor principalibus modis rhetoricis. Nonnumquam fictionis eventus, personae, locive sunt veri, at argumentum falsum, aut, ad mininum, non verum. Fictio, scripta vel dicta, sit pellicula, ludus scaenicus, vel programma radiophonica vel televisifica. Non omne fictionis opus est consequentia artifex, sed fictio usitate videtur exemplum artis vel oblectamenti. Facultas fictionis et aliorum operum artificium faciendorum habetur principalis culturae humanae natura, una ex necessariis humanitatis notis.
