Casus irreducibilis in algebra unus est casus qui in solvendo polynomia gradus 3 vel superiora cum integris coefficientibus algebraice (ut numeris oppositis) unus est, obtinendo radices expressas. Ostendit multos numeros algebraicos reales aestimatos esse, radicalibus exprimi non posse quin numeros implicatos introducat. Casus irreducibilis notissimus eventus est in polynomiis cubicis habentibus tres radices reales, quod probatum est a Petro Wantzel anno 1843. Videri potest an data polynomia cubica casus irreducibilis sic dicto inspiciendo discrimen, per formulam Hieronymi Cardani.
