Chorda aurorae borealis in musica est chorda undecim tonorum in Cantata Tempore Belli Ernesti Krenek (1943) inventa, quae auroram borealem repraesentat. In theoria musica habetur exemplum texturae tam ordinatae ut statum rei singulae appropinquet, fusos gregis colores constituens: "pulchra chorda . . . aurorae borealis, in cogente tonorum distributione, fusum efficit sonum a volutatione? cymbali suspensi sustentum."[2][1]
Quaelibet chorda quae in undecim notis consistit est paene panchromatica; in chorda aurorae borealis, omnes notae praeter E sonantur.
