등변 코호몰로지

대수적 위상수학에서 등변 코호몰로지(等變cohomology, 영어: equivariant cohomology)는 군 코호몰로지와 특이 코호몰로지를 일반화하는 코호몰로지 이론이다.

정의

${\displaystyle X}$가 위상 공간이고, ${\displaystyle G}$가 위상군이라고 하자. 군의 작용 ${\displaystyle X\times G\to G}$를 생각하자. 그렇다면 등변 코호몰로지 ${\displaystyle H_{G}^{\bullet }(X)}$는 호모토피 궤도 공간(영어: homotopy orbit space)이라는 위상 공간 ${\displaystyle X_{{\text{h}}G}}$의 특이 코호몰로지이다.

호모토피 궤도 공간은 다음과 같이 정의된다. ${\displaystyle G}$의 분류 공간 ${\displaystyle EG\to BG}$를 생각하자. 그렇다면 ${\displaystyle EG}$는 ${\displaystyle G}$-주다발이므로 ${\displaystyle G}$의 작용이 존재한다. 따라서, ${\displaystyle X\times BG}$에 (대각) ${\displaystyle G}$-작용이 존재한다. 호모토피 궤도 공간 ${\displaystyle X_{{\text{h}}G}}$는 이 작용의 궤도 공간이다.

성질

매끄러운 다양체의 복소수 계수 등변 코호몰로지는 등변 미분 형식을 통해 드람 코호몰로지와 유사하게 계산된다.

예

${\displaystyle G}$가 자명군이라고 하자. 자명군의 분류 공간은 한원소 공간 ${\displaystyle BG=EG=\{\bullet \}}$이다. 따라서, ${\displaystyle X\times _{G}EG\cong X}$이며, 이 경우 ${\displaystyle H_{G}^{\bullet }(X)\cong H^{\bullet }(X)}$이다. 즉, 자명군에 대한 등변 코호몰로지는 단순히 특이 코호몰로지이다.

반대로, ${\displaystyle X}$가 한원소 공간 ${\displaystyle X=\{\bullet \}}$이라고 하자. 이 경우, ${\displaystyle X\times _{G}EG\cong BG}$이므로, ${\displaystyle H_{G}^{\bullet }(X)\cong H^{\bullet }(BG)}$는 단순히 ${\displaystyle G}$의 군 코호몰로지이다.
