횡스크롤 비디오 게임(영어: Side-scrolling video game)은 카메라가 측면에서 쵤영하도록 되어 있어, 플레이어 캐릭터를 포함한 게임플레이 내 물체들이 오직 좌우로만 움직일 수 있는 비디오 게임을 가리킨다. 스크롤링 컴퓨터 그래픽 기술을 활용한다.
횡스크롤의 활용
횡스크롤 게임플레이 방식은 플랫폼 게임들에서 흔히 발견된다. 플랫폼 게임은 달리고 뛰어 장애물을 돌파하는 레벨들이 중심인 액션 게임을 가리킨다. 1985년에 발매된 닌텐도 게임 《슈퍼 마리오 브라더스》가 유명한 예시이다.
