は、Grimpoteuthidae 科に置かれることもある。まずジュウモンジダコ属 Grimpoteuthis は Voss (1988) によりメンダコ科 Opisthoteuthidae に含められた。O'Shea (1999) はメンダコ科から本属 Grimpoteuthis と Luteuthis 属を分離し、それぞれ
