では本属は独自にアラルコメネウス科（Alalcomenaeidae）に分類されたが、Liu et al. 2007 以降ではレアンコイリアなどと共にレアンコイリア科（Leanchoiliidae）に含まれるようになった。唯一の化石標本のみによって知られる Actaeus は、単に保存状態の良くないアラルコメネウスという可能性もある。
