（シニア）、elderly、aged、後期高齢者医療制度の名称や高齢ドライバー標識の意匠変更など。 なお、従来、老人という言葉が広く使われてきたが、最近、差別用語ではないかという意見がある。特に英語圏において「老人」に相当する「Old people」は、少なくとも北米圏では立派な差別用語として認知されている。
