Bryophyta

ケ類が苔類と区別されるようになり、スミスの分類体系 (1955) や Proskauer (1957) では、コケ植物門 division Bryophyta は苔綱 Hepaticae、ツノゴケ綱 Anthocerotae、蘚綱 Musci の3つの綱に分けられた。今日でもコケ植物はその3系統に分けられている。
