Michelangelo Antonioni

Michelangelo Antonioni (29 September 1912 - 30 Juli 2007) adalah seorang sutradara film modern asal Italia yang karya-karya film-nya dianggap sebagai beberapa karya yang paling berpengaruh dalam dunia film. Antonioni meninggal pada 30 Juli 2007 di Roma pada umur 94 tahun, pada hari yang sama dengan sutradara film hebat lain, Ingmar Bergman.

Kehidupan awal

Michelangelo Antonioni dilahirkan di Ferrara, Emilia Romagna, Italia. Setelah lulus dari University of Bologna dalam bidang ekonomi, ia mulai menulis untuk koran lokal Ferrara, Il Corriere Padano pada tahun 1935 sebagai wartawan film.

Pada tahun 1940, Antonioni pindah ke Roma dan bekerja untuk Cinema, majalah film resmi fasis yang diedit oleh anak Benito Mussolini, Vittorio. Namun, Antonioni dipecat beberapa bulan kemudian. Pada akhir tahun tersebut, ia mendaftar di Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia untuk mempelajari teknik film.
