Thanks again for organizing Wikipedia Asian Month. There are only 4 days before it starts. If you haven't yet signed your language in WAM 2017, You can sign-up here. Below we have provided some notices and guidelines for organizing.

Page Setup

• Our Sample page is ready to be translated. There are only a few adjustments if you had this page for 2016 already.
  • Article Requirement is 4
  • Article criteria are 3k bytes and 300 words. NO 2k bytes for smaller Wikipedia.
  • According to the tool's limit, IP users can not participate. Please encourage them to register an account.

Localization

• Please localize this template and used on sign up page. I will update the template once the tool is ready to be used.
• You may localize this page, but you can also just put a link towards the meta page. m:Wikipedia Asian Month/QA

Strategy

• You may have to invite some of your Wikipedia friends or active Wikipedians from your home WIKI to help you organize.
• You may have to send some invitation to last year participants, active Wikipedians, and Wikipedians who has a special interest.
• Central Notice will be used. You may use the Site Notice if you don't see the CN is deployed.

Reward

• We will keep sending postcards (new design) this year, and as an organizer, you will receive an additional postcard as well.
• We will have many special prizes provided by Wikimedia Affiliates and others. Take a look at here. Let me know if your organization also would like to offer a similar thing.

Wikipedia Asian Month 2017: engage with audience

Dear WAM organizer,

I’m Erick, the coordinator of WAM 2017. Thanks for your effort and help at m:Wikipedia Asian Month 2017! Here are some more information about organizational matter of the event at a national level.

You are receiving this message because you have signed up as a organizer or in the list.

Timeline

The event has started and will end in the November 30th 23:59 (UTC). However, we are late for some matter. So we need your help:

• Invite previous participants and your community members to join. We have a template you can use.
• Translate Central Notice for your community (more instruction below) as well as sending a notice in village pump. Go public!
• Become the jury member in a campaign on Fountain which is an amazing tool for you to supervise participants’ articles. If you don’t have the campaign set up, please contact us! And put a link to your community’s campaign page for participants’ navigation.
• Organize a off-site editathon event. A coffee bar, internet and laptops. Though it’s optional. If you want to do that, please contact me.

In the following days, you should answer the questions from your community and supervise the submissions. Hope you have fun!

Prepare Central Notice

Central Notice shows a banner on the top of pages in your wiki project along the event timeframe. We will use this to engage with audience. Steps:

1. Translate, change logo and link to event page. Find your project's Central Notice here. For example, we can change the banner for Chinese Wikipedia here.
2. When you mark the 4 items (translation) as done. I'll enable the central notice in your language for this month.

Special Prize

• Write articles on monuments of Bhubaneswar (supported by Bhubaneswar Heritage Edit-a-thon).

Here are what will come after the end of WAM

• Make sure you judge all articles before December 12th, and participants who can improve their contribution (not submit) before December 10th.
• Once you finish the judging, please update this page after December 12th
• There will be three round of address collection scheduled: December 15th, December 20th, and December 25th.
• Please report the local Wikipedia Asian Ambassador (who has most accepted articles) on this page, if the 2nd participants have more than 30 accepted articles, you will have two ambassadors.

@Alishank: પ્રિય હસન અલી તાલીબ અલી ખરોડીયા અલીશાન સહુ પ્રથમ તો વિકિપીડિયા પર આપનું સ્વાગત છે. આપને વિકિપીડીયા પર યોગદાન કરવું ગમે છે તે બાબત આપના સભ્ય પાના પરથી જાણીને અનહદ આનંદ થયો.
હવે આપ અહીં કે ચોતરા પર કે અન્ય કોઇપણ પાના પર સંદેશો મુકો ત્યારે એ સંદેશાના અંતે પોતાની સહી ઉમેરવી ન ભૂલશો.
અન્ય એ વાત પણ જણાવવાની કે આપ જ્યારે અહી સભ્ય બન્યા ત્યારે આપના સભ્ય પાના પર અમે એક સ્વાગત સંદેશ મૂક્યો છે એ ધ્યાનપૂર્વક વાંચી જવા વિનંતિ છે. એમાં કેટલીક કડીઓ પણ છે એ બધા પાના આપ જો વાંચશો તો આપને વિકિ-કાર્ય-શૈલી મોટાભાગે સમજાઈ જશે. માટે એ બધા મુદ્દાઓ અહી ફરી નથી લખી રહ્યો.
રહી વાત એજ્યુકેશનલ પોસ્ટ અને પેજ બનાવવા બાબતની તો એમાટે જણાવવાનું કે વિકિપીડિયા એક જ્ઞાનને લગતો કોશ હોવા છતા એ કોઇ ભણતરને લગતું જાળસ્થળ (વેબસાઈટ) નથી. આપ મૂક્ત જ્ઞાન કોષ પર શોભે એવા કોઈ પણ વિષય પર લેખ બનાવી શકો છો. બાકી આપ જેમ જેમ આગળ વધતા જશો એમ એમ અહી કાર્ય કરતા મિત્રો સાથે સંદેશાના આદાનપ્રદાન વડે આપ આગળ શીખી શકશો.વિકિ પર હાલમાં કાર્યરત બધા જ સભ્યો આપને પૂરતો સહયોગ આપશે જ એવી મને ફક્ત આશા જ નહી પણ ખાત્રી પણ છે.

• Here are some recent updates and clarification of rules for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
  • Additional souvenirs (e.g. postcard) will be sent to Ambassadors and active organizers.
  • A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
  • Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia or Wikivoyage projects count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
  • The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
  • If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
  • In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
  • Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
  • International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.

Invitation to Organize Wiki Loves Love 2019

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.

The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.

To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.

નમસ્તે મિત્ર, તમે જાણો જ છો કે છેલ્લા ઘણા સમય થી મારા અને KartikMistry સભ્ય ના edits ને HARDHROL સભ્ય દ્વારા વગર કોઈ કારણે રિવર્ટ કરી દેવામાં આવે છે. મારો એક પણ ફેરફાર ક્યારેય કોઈ સંદર્ભ વગર નહિ હોય અને જ્યારે બીજા ના ફેરફારો biased હશે ત્યારે revert કરવા પેહલા હું એમના સ્ત્રોત સુકામ biased છે એના જવાબ માં ચર્ચા પેજ પર મારી વાત સંદર્ભ સહિત મુકું છું અને પછી જ એમના edits પાછા ખેંચુ છું. અને જ્યાં સુધી KartikMistry ની વાત થાય તો એ ઘણા વર્ષો થી વિકિપેડીએ ના સભ્ય છે એટલે એમને બધી જાણ છે લેખો ની અને વિકિપીડિયા નું સંચાલન કેવી રીતે થાય છે એટલે એમની તરફ થી પણ ક્યારેય vandalism શક્ય નથી. પરંતુ અમારા બંને ના edits વારંવાર propoganda ફેલાવા ના હેઠળ Hardhrol સભ્ય દ્વારા રિવર્ટ કરી દેવામાં આવે છે અને મારા જેવા અન્ય નવા editors ને પાડી કાઢવા ની પ્રવૃતિ નું ચલણ તેમની તરફ થી થઈ રહ્યું છે, પછી એ સંસ્કૃતિકરણ પેજ હોય કે બીજું કોઈ પેજ. કૃપયા એમના edits પાછા ખેંચી ને સખ્ત કદમ ઉઠવા મારી તમને અપીલ છે અને એ વિશે ચર્ચા કરવા માટે KartikMistry સભ્ય ની પણ સહાયતા લઈ શકો છો એમને પણ જાણ છે કે Hardhrol સભ્ય નું બીજા editors પ્રત્યે નું વર્તન કેવું છે. આ વાંચવા બદલ તમારો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર. -- HinduKshatrana (ચર્ચા) ૧૮:૧૫, ૧૫ જુલાઇ ૨૦૧૯ (IST)

@Aniket: વિકિપીડિયાનાં સામાન્ય નિયમ મુજબ પણ આ WP:COI નો ભંગ જ છે. માત્ર એક તળપદું ગીત પ્રખ્યાત થઈ ગયું તેથી તેમનો વિકિમાં સમાવેશ યોગ્ય નથી. પ્રમાણિત અને દ્વિતીય સ્ત્રોતમાં કેટલું સ્થાન મળ્યું? તે જોવું જોઈએ. મેં ગૂગલમાં સર્ચ કર્યું તો કોઈ વર્તમાનપત્ર કે પુસ્તકમાં બેન ને સ્થાન મળ્યું નથી તેથી આવી પરિસ્થિતિમાં વિકિ એ સૌથી પહેલું પરિણામ બતાવે છે અને સર્ક્યુલર રિપોર્ટિંગ થશે જે યોગ્ય નથી. આપ પાનાં ને દૂર કરવાનાં વિરોધમાં હોવ તો ચર્ચાનાં પાનાં પર સ્પષ્ટ મંતવ્ય જણાવો જેથી તેની ચર્ચા થઈ નિર્ણય પર આવી શકાય. કોઈ પણ સંદર્ભ વગર લખેલો (વેરીફાયબિલીટી નો ભંગ) અને જાતે વ્યક્તિએ બનાવેલો લેખ ચલાવી ન જ શકાય.—Harshil169 (ચર્ચા) ૧૨:૧૧, ૨૬ જુલાઇ ૨૦૧૯ (IST)

૧. જે સભ્યના પાના પર સંદેશો મુકવામાં આવે એને આપોઆપ સૂચના મળી જાય છે. જ્યારે કોઇ અન્ય ચર્ચાના પાના પર કોઈ ખાસ સભ્ય માટે મુકાયેલા સંદેશા તરફ એ સભ્યનું ધ્યાન દોરવા માટે પિંગ ઢાંચાને ઉપયોગમાં લેવાનો હોય છે. એ એનો ખરો ઉપયોગ છે એટલું જરા આપની જાણ માટે.
૨.ગુજરાતી વિકિ પર પ્રવર્તમાન નિયમો મુજબ જ્યારે લેખ સાવ જ નકામો ન હોય ત્યારે એ લેખ બનાવનારને પણ સ્વબચાવમાં કંઇક રજુવાત કરવાની તક આપવી જરૂરી છે. અને એ માટે આશરે એક અઠવાડીયાનો સમય આપવાનો રીવાજ ચાલ્યો આવે છે. હું ફક્ત એ નિયમ પાળી રહ્યો છું. મને એ લેખ માટે કોઈ અંગત ઋજુ-લાગણીઓ નથી સંકળાયેલી કે કોઈ પણ ભોગે હું એ લેખને ટકાવી રાખવા માટે મથતો હોઉ. આ કારણે મારે એ લેખ બચાવવા કોઈ ચર્ચા ચાલું કરવાની જરૂર નથી પણ ગમે તેમ તોય, મને પણ એવી ચર્ચા ચાલું કરી શકવાની છુટ છે એવો બોધ કરાવવા બદલ આપનો આભારી છું.
૩.આપ કોઈ લેખ ઉતાવળે શા માટે રદ્દ કરવા માટે તત્પર છો એ વિષે આપ ચોક્કસ એ લેખના પાને ચર્ચા ચાલુ કરી શકો છો.

પ્રણામ, મ્હારો એડિટ જગદ્ગુરુ રામભદ્રાચાર્ય જી ના પાના ઉપર નો કારણ એ છે કે ટાઇટલ ઉપર માનવાચક શબ્દો નો ઉપયોગ વિકી ઉપર ઘણા બધા ઉપર નથી, અને હેમચંદ્રાચાર્ય જી ના પણ ટાઇટલ ઉપર એ નથી પણ, બનેઓ પાના ની અંદર માનવાચક શબ્દ તો ચેજ, અને આવો એડિટ કરી પાનો નાનો થાય તો એમાં વાંધોજ શું,અને એ ભાઈએ મને એમ કહ્યું કે honorific suffix ને વાપરવા ની "જરૂર નથી".એમાં મે એમને અંગ્રેજી નો ઉપયોગ કરી વાત કરી, કદાચ એ ભાઈ ને ખરાબ લાગ્યું કારણ અંગ્રેજી મા કોઈને માન આપવા માટે ગુજરાતી જેમ "તમે" જેવો શબ્દ નથી.. મ્હારો ઉદ્દેશ્ય કોઈ ની પણ સાથે તુચ્છ રીતે બરતાવ કરવાનો નથી. છતાં ખરાબ લાગ્યું હોએ તો, ક્ષમા. This is an invitation to participate in the Community Engagement Survey, which is one of the key requirements for drafting the Conference & Event Grant application for WikiConference India 2020 to the Wikimedia Foundation. WMF Board Governance meeting Gujarati community on March 7 (Sunday) from 12 pm to 1 pm

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is organizing a call for feedback about community selection processes between February 1 and March 14. While the Wikimedia Foundation and the movement have grown about five times in the past ten years, the Board’s structure and processes have remained basically the same. As the Board is designed today, we have a problem of capacity, performance, and lack of representation of the movement’s diversity. Our current processes to select individual volunteer and affiliate seats have some limitations. Direct elections tend to favor candidates from the leading language communities, regardless of how relevant their skills and experience might be in serving as a Board member, or contributing to the ability of the Board to perform its specific responsibilities. It is also a fact that the current processes have favored volunteers from North America and Western Europe. As a matter of fact, there had only been one member who served on the Board, from South Asia, in more than fifteen years of history.

In the upcoming months, we need to renew three community seats and appoint three more community members in the new seats. This call for feedback is to see what processes can we all collaboratively design to promote and choose candidates that represent our movement and are prepared with the experience, skills, and insight to perform as trustees? In this regard, a meeting with the Gujarati community has been scheduled to discuss the proposed ideas and collect your thoughts and feedback. The meeting is on March 7 (Sunday) from 12 pm to 1 pm. Members of the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to elect four candidates to a three-year term. After a three-week-long Call for Candidates, there are 20 candidates for the 2021 election.

@ARDITGILA "I want to keep it" is not enough reason for keeping cross-wiki spam on Gujarati Wikipedia. In addition, all the discussion about keeping the articles on Gujarati Wikipedia has to happen using Gujarati language so that community members can understand and participate. Can you read / write enough Gujarati for that? The article in question may again be marked for deletion and you will have to prove on it's discussion page that it is worth keeping on Gujarati Wiki in front of the community, otherwise it will be deleted.
