Nordaustlandet (literalmente, en noruegués, "Terra do nordeste") é unha illa do grupo das Svalbard situada ao nordeste do arquipélago, de aquí o seu nome, separada da illa principal (Spitzbergen) polo estreito de Hinlopen. Cunha extensión de 14.433 km², 11.009 km² de glaciares, é a segunda illa máis grande do arquipélago. Está deshabitada.

A súa superficie está esencialmente recuberta de glaciares, que se dividen en dúas zonas principais: Austfonna (é dicir, o "glaciar do leste", o máis grande de Europa polo seu volume e Vestfonna (o "glaciar do oeste"). Nordaustlandet está incluída dentro do Parque Natural do Nordeste de Svalbard.
Cazadores de morsas ingleses foron os primeiros en avistar a punta sur de Nordaustlandet en 1617. O descubrimento foi mostrado no mapa da "Compañía de Moscúvia" (1625, pero baseado en descubrimentos feitos en e antes de 1622), coa illa etiquetada como Sir Thomas Smyth's Iland. Tamén mostra o Cabo Norte (Point Purchas). Primeiro chamouse Oostlandt ("Terra Leste") nun mapa holandés de 1662, e ao ano seguinte outro mapa holandés marcou a súa liña de costa máis claramente, mostrando as súas costas oeste e norte, separando esta última das Sete Illas (Sjuøyane). Un mapa holandés de 1710 foi o primeiro en mostrar a illa con precisión, nomeándoa "Het Noord Ooster Land" ("Terra do nordeste").
