La Felguera é a parroquia máis grande do concello de Langreu e a quinta localidade asturiana tras Xixón, Oviedo, Avilés e Mieres, cunha poboación de 20.000 habitantes.

La Felguera era un núcleo rural ata a chegada, no século XIX, da industria siderúrxica, que aproveitaba as boas comunicacións (Ferrocarril de Langreu, terceiro ferrocarril español), a auga do río Nalón e o carbón das minas que se explotaban desde o século XVII. "La Felguera" converteuse no centro siderúrxico máis importantes de España, situación que acabou e empeorou coa crise industrial que sufriu Asturias, e máis particularmente as "Cuncas Mineiras" no século XX.
Actualmente acubilla o centro de novas tecnoloxías de Valnalón e o Museo da Siderurxia. As súas construcións máis importantes son os edificios da antiga fábrica, aproveitados hoxe para novas industrias ou como patrimonio industrial, a igrexa de San Pedro, a capela de Santa Lourdes, o Chalet de Enxeñeiros, o Chalet Bustelo, as vivendas na ruela Conde Sizzo, o Barrio Urquijo, a estatua de Pedro Duro, o Mercado, o edificio da Salle Vella, a Pinacoteca de Eduardo Úrculo e tres parques: Dores F Duro, García Lago e Sutu.
