(Mathématiques) Règle de trois. Le calcul x = bc / a pour obtenir le x dans le ratio a : b = c : x, dont a, b et c sont connus et x est inconnu.
(Cinéma, Littérature) Règle de la structure d’histoire disant qu’il est meilleur d’avoir trois répétitions que les autres nombres pour donner une impression forte, comme dans les Trois Petits Cochons et Cendrillon.
