Ungheni (ukr. Унгень, Unhen, ven. Унге́ны, Ungeny) on Moldovan seitsemänneksi suurin kaupunki ja Unghenin piirin keskus. Se sijaitsee Prutjoen itärannalla Romanian vastaisella rajalla ja on osa Keski-Moldovaa. Ungheniin on maanteitse 126 kilometriä pääkaupunki Chișinăusta länteen.[1]

Vuoden 2014 alussa Unghenin kaupungin asukasluvuksi arvioitiin 38 400 ja koko Unghenin piirin 117 400 henkeä.[2] Vuosikymmen aiemmin (2004) toteutetussa väestönlaskennassa kaupungin väkiluku oli 32 530.[3]
Noin 20 kilometriä kaupungin luoteispuolella on kansainvälinen maantien raja-asema ja siltayhteys Prutjoen vastarannalle Romaniaan, jossa Iașin kaupunki sijaitsee 29 kilometrin päässä rajasta.[1] Unghenin on merkittävä rautateiden kauttakulku- ja risteyspaikkakunta. Kaupungin kautta kulkee Moldovan rautateiden (Calea Ferată din Moldova, CFM) pääratayhteys, joka saapuu lännessä Romanian Iasista ja jatkaa Unghenin pääkaupunki Chișinăuhin, Transnistrian Benderin ja Tiraspol kautta Ukrainan Odessan alueelle. Myös sivuratayhteys Moldovan pohjoisosiin (mm. Bălți) ja sitä kautta Ukrainaan, liittyy päärataverkkoon Unghenissa.[4]
