Kulttuurikeskus Poleeni on Pieksämäen kaupungin kulttuurikeskus, jossa toimivat kaupunginkirjasto, Seutuopisto, musiikkiopisto, kahvila, Lippupalvelu, nuorisotila sekä kotiseutuarkisto. Keskuksessa on suuri esiintymistila (342 paikkaa), piennäyttämö (noin 50 katsomopaikkaa), sekä kokoustiloja. Sen aulassa voidaan järjestää suuria tapahtumia.[1]

Poleenissa voi järjestää myös teatteritunteja ja lauluharjoituksia.
Kulttuurikeskus on valmistunut vuonna 1989. Sen suunnitteli arkkitehtitoimisto Gullichsen–Kairamo–Vormala (Kristian Gullichsen, Erkki Kairamo, Timo Vormala). Rakennus sai valmistumisvuonnaan Vuoden betonirakenne -palkinnon sekä Uusi Suomi -sanomalehden miljööpalkinnon.[1][2]
Poleeni on nimetty paikallisen toimittaja ja opettaja Rietrikki Polénin mukaan.[2]
Poleeni oli Suomen ensimmäisiä monia eri kulttuurilaitoksia yhdistäviä monitoimitaloja tai kulttuurikeskuksia, joita rakennettiin 1980-luvulla erityisesti Itä-Suomen kaupunkeihin. Muita olivat Mikkelin Mikaeli, Imatran Kulttuuritalo Virta sekä nykyisen Kouvolan Kouvola-talo ja Kuusankoskitalo.[3][4]
Valmistuessaan Poleeni sai lehdistössä myönteisiä arvioita arkkitehtuuristaan. Uuden Suomen Raimo Markkanen kuvaili rakennusta syyskuussa 1989[5]:
Rakennus kääntää kadulle arvoituksellisen, sileäksi venytetyn sivun. Puistolle se avaa suuret ikkuna-aukot. Ranskalaisten parvekkeiden äärellä voi seisahtaa katsomaan järvimaisemaa tai rakennuksen omaa elämää. Kadulta saavutaan muuriaukon läpi sisäpihalle, jolta astutaan aulaan. Pääoven vastakkaisella puolella on puistonäkymien reunustama takkanurkkaus. Pitkät portaat vievät auditorion yläaulaan, toiset kirjastoon, jonka hiljaisuutta kattovalojen tasainen sarja tiivistää. Poleeni on kunnianosoitus leikkivälle ihmiselle.
Vuoden betonirakenne -tuomaristo perusteli valintaansa:[2]
Poleenissa heijastuvat niin juhlallisuus ja arvokkuus kuin kodikkuus ja leikkimieli. Se heijastaa tämän päivän julkisen rakennuksen monisärmäistä olemusta.
