Vallis Alpes, "Alppien laakso" tai "Iso laakso" lienee tunnetuin Kuun laaksoista. Se on pitkä, vaihtelevan levyinen, jopa 10 km leveä ja 166 km pitkä. Laakso on melko tasapohjainen lukuun ottamatta laakson halki kulkevaa halkeamaa, joka ei erotu Maahan asti kuin suurilla kaukoputkilla. Tämä halkeama on kiemurteleva "rilli", joka on romahtanut laavaputki. Laakso lienee laavalla täyttynyt hautavajoama. Se on keskeltä leveämpi kuin päistään.
Vallis Alpes sijaitsee Kuun "Alpeilla", latinaksi Montes Alpes Sateiden meren, Mare Imbriumin reunalla. Se vie Mare Imbriumista Mare Frigorikseen eli Kylmyyden mereen, ja on hieman tummapohjaisesta isosta Plato-kraatterista kaakkoon. Sijainti 48.5° P 3.2° I. Laakson löysi Francesco Bianchini vuonna 1727.
