9 mm Parabellum kartutxoa, 9 mm Luger eta 9 x 19 mm izenez ere ezaguna, 1902an Georg Luger armagile alemaniarrak sortu zuen berak diseinaturiko Luger P08 pistolarekin erabiltzeko. Lehen Mundu Gerran Alemaniak bakarrik erabili zuen, zehazki bere Luger pistolan eta MP 18 subfusilean. Bigarren Mundu Gerran ordea Alemaniaz aparte beste herrialde batzuek ere erabili zuten, besteak beste Poloniak eta Commonwealtheko tropek. Ordutik, munduan gehien erabiltzen den pistola-kartutxoa da.
