Nuarbeko etxe zaharrenak XVI. eta XVII. mendekoak omen dira. Antzinako Nuarbe osatzen zuten eraikinak ostatua, errota, burdinola edo errementaria, ermita eta zenbait etxe ziren. Ostatuaren lehen aipamenak 1692. urtekoak dira, Erdikoa etxearenak, 1652. urtekoak, eta Alikante izeneko etxearenak, 1647koak. Azken hau, aipatutako urtean Baltasar Ibarguren Urrestillako bikarioarena zen.[1]
1984an amaitu zen 1979an eraikitzen hasitako proiektua. Urtegiak Zarautz, Getaria, Zestoa, Zumaia, Azpeitia eta Azkoitiko herriak urez hornitzeko eraiki zen.[1]
1960-1970 garaira arte, otarregintza zen nuarbetarren diru-iturri nagusia. Garai batean Nuarben/nuarbetarrek egindakoak ziren Gipuzkoan zehar gehien zabaltzen ziren otarreak.[1]
Sokatira talde indartsua eta ospetsua dauka herriak, nazioartean hainbat txapelketa irabazi duena. Hori dela eta, auzoan kirol horrekin lotutako museoa ikusgai dago 1995etik.
ETB 1eko Herri txiki, infernu handi telebista saioko 5. denboraldiko zortzigarren programa Beizaman izan zen. Momentu batean Nuarbetik ere pasa zen Mikel Pagadizabal, saioko aurkezleetako bat, eta bi nuarbetarrekin ibili zen berriketan, haietako bat Juan Zabaleta Txistu otarregilea.
