1676an Maeda Tsunanorik Kanazawako gazteluaren ondoan atseden etxe bat eraiki zuen, Renchi-ochin, eta inguruan lorategiak moldatuz paisa egiteari ekin zion. 1759an etxea eta lorategiak erre egin ziren eta 1774an Harunaga daymioak Yugao-tei te-etxea eta ur-jauzi esmeralda eraiki zituen.
1822an Narinaga daymioak Takezawa etxea eraiki zuen eta Tatsumi errekaren urak kanalizatu zituen, errekatxoetan harrizko zubi ugari eraikiz. Orduan Kenroku-en izena ezarri zion, "sei atributuen lorategia" esan nahi du. Sei atributu hauek espazioa, seklusioa, artifiziala, zaharra, ubideak eta panorama dira. Bi urte beranduago hil zen Narinaga eta haren seme Nariyasuk etxea bota eta Kasumiga aintzira handitu zuen, gaur egun daukan egitura emanez. 1874an publiko guztiari ireki zizkion ateak.
Hainbat osagai aipagarri daude Kenroku-en lorategietan:
