Hiphoprühmitus A-Rühm kogunes aastal 1998 mitmete Eesti MC-de ühekordse projektina. Projektis osalesid Cool D (Eesti viljakaim hiphoppar, kes on välja andnud 7 sooloalbumit), Kozy (Raadio 2 saate "Linnadžungel" saatejuht), G-Enka ja Revo (mõlemad ansamblist Toe Tag). Peatselt liitus ansambliga DJ ja produtsent DJ Critikal. Ühine lugu "Viimane lumi" tehti Eesti Punase Risti palvel ja esmaesitlus toimus messil "Teeviit" aprillis 1998.
1998. aastal välja antud lugu "Viimane lumi" tagas ansamblile Raadio 2 Aastahiti edetabelis 5. koha. Teine singel "Popmuusik" on suurema kommertseduga lugu A-Rühma loomingus. Väga hea vastuvõtt sai osaks albumile "Laulmata jäänud laulud", mille esitlus toimus 1999. aasta novembris.
Pärast albumi ilmumist jõudsid kuulajateni sellised palad nagu "Supercool", "Kõige suurem diktatuur" ja "65". Soomes ilmus singel "Leegion" ja mõned laulud koos Soome artistidega King Size Recordsi plaatidel.
Pärast seitsmeaastast ootamist tõi A-Rühm 2006. aastal lõpuks kuulajateni uue albumi "Leegion". 2006. aasta 23. märtsil ilmunud album sisaldab 22 pala. Lisaks DJ Critikali, Cool D, G-Enka ja Kozy on albumil külalistena kaasa tegemas ka Philadelphia räppar Grand Agent, Tommy Boy, Tanel Padar ja Metsatöllu Markus. Albumil on ka mõned juba aastal 2002 ilmumata jäänud albumi palad, nagu "Taifuun" ja "Lõvipojad".
