Certificación de la RIAA

En los Estados Unidos, la certificación de premios de la Recording Industry Association of America, basada en el número de álbumes, sencillos y vídeos, se vende a través de los mercados al por menor y otros mercados auxiliares.^[1] Otros países tienen premios semejantes (véase certificación de ventas discográficas). El artista con mayor número de álbumes certificados es Elvis Presley con un total de 189 seguido en segundo lugar por The Beatles con 122.^[2]
