Ernest Aldrich Simpson was an American-born British shipbroker and former captain in the Coldstream Guards. He was the second husband of Wallis Simpson, who later married the former King Edward VIII following his abdication. After his military service, Simpson joined the family shipbroking firm, Simpson Spence & Young (SSY)
