Duncrievie

Human settlement in Scotland

Duncrievie is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies approximately 6 miles north of Kinross, to the west of the M90 motorway, 1 mile south of Glenfarg. How it started Duncrievie was once pretty much owned by one family who had farmed it for years. During the Napoleonic times prisoners of war were sent and worked in mills creating flower from wheat and doing farming. Houses were constructed to house workers but most of the land was still owned by the family. In the 19th century the farm was struggling and they started to sell land and buildings. Our house and next door was built by a man who built them for his two sons in the 1820s. During WW1 and WW2 more prisoners of war worked on farms about. And houses were constructed about. This was how the village started. Houses are still being constructed today. | work = Ordnance Survey Landranger Map | edition = B2 | year = 2007 | isbn = 978-0-319-22997-2}}</ref>
