Bolshemurtinsky District is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It is located in the southern central part of the krai and borders with Kazachinsky District in the north, Taseyevsky District in the east, Sukhobuzimsky and Yemelyanovsky Districts in the south, Birilyussky District in the west, and with Pirovsky District in the northwest. The area of the district is 6,856 square kilometers (2,647 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality of Bolshaya Murta. Population: 19,115 (2010 Census); 21,087 ; 26,102 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Bolshaya Murta accounts for 41.4% of the district's total population.
