It is currently the training base of the North Melbourne Football Club, an Australian rules football club. It has a long association with the club and league, with the club first moving to the ground in 1882 and for 60 years between 1925 and the 1985 season it was used as the team's home ground for Victorian Football League (VFL) matches.
