The property was originally established in 1839 by Frederick Dutton, and is home to the oldest Merino stud in South Australia and the second-oldest in Australia. Anlaby features a significant collection of heritage buildings on the South Australian Heritage Register, extensive gardens covering 10 acres, and continues to operate as a working farm.
