From ππ΄π±πΌπΊπ° (hebiya, βsendβ, verb) +β -πΊ- (-y-, glide) +β -π (-o, absolutive suffix), literally "The sent one". Probably a calque of Ancient Greek αΌΟΟΟΟΞΏΞ»ΞΏΟ (apΓ³stolos), like Old Armenian Υ‘ΥΌΥ‘ΦΥ₯Υ‘Υ¬ (aαΉakΚ»eal).
