  1. A connection established over a telephone network between two parties.
  2. The conversation held by the two parties on this connection.
  3. (law, colloquial) A quick, informal consultation or conversation with a lawyer, usually by a party in distress or that is about to be placed under arrest.

  • The third sense is usually constructed as I'd like to make a telephone call or I'd like a telephone call.
