From Middle Dutch ruchte, rochte. An early derivation equivalent to roepen (“to call, shout”) + -t (“verbal noun”); the sound change -pt- to -ft- is primitive (Primärberührung; compare bruiloft), and -ft- subsequently yielded -cht- through regular Dutch sound change (compare gracht).
rucht ? (uncountable)
