From Byzantine Greek φᾰγ- (phăg-), perfective stem of ἔφᾰγον (éphăgon, I ate, I devoured), singular first-person aorist active indicative form (by suppletion) of ἐσθῐ́ω (esthĭ́ō, to eat, devour, consume).
