minta
minta
Created by János Sajnovics during the Hungarian language reform, which took place in the 18th–19th centuries. Based on the Lappish (Sámi) word mintâ (“coin”), with the mistaken attribution of the sense ‘sample, draft’, identifying its meaning with the Hungarian construction mint a (“like the”).[1][2]
