From Middle High German lāzen, from Old High German lāzan.
The Ripuarian inflected forms lacking -ß- are possibly unshifted relict forms. Compare, however, the Middle High German contraction lān, from which the present forms could be derived. Compare also the Ripuarian past tense mot of mösse, which, for its part, cannot be explained as a relict.
loße (third-person singular present löt or lett or ließt, past tense leet or leeß or looß, past participle jeloße or geloße or geloß)
