fuq
fuq (plural fuqs)
fuq (third-person singular simple present fuqs, present participle fuqqing, simple past and past participle fuqqed)
From Arabic فَوْقَ (fawqa, preposition), فَوْقُ (fawqu, adverb). The Arabic words mean only “over, above”, but the Maltese preposition gained additional senses from għal (now only “for, to”).
