Cognate with Tho [Cuối Chăm] jɔːk⁸.
dọc • (𨂔, 𫆡)
dọc • (𫆡)
In spite of Baxter-Sagart (2014)'s proposal, this term certainly was not directly derived from Old Chinese 脰 (OC *kə.dˤok-s) (B-S) (SV: đậu) (which yielded nóc (“rooftop”) instead). If there was even a relationship, it must be a borrowing from a fellow Vietic language, and from there to the Old Chinese term.
