Etymology
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish آكسزین (añsızın),[1][2] from آڭ (añ), equivalent to an (“mind, perception, consciousness”) + -sız (without, -less) + -ın, literally “when one is without awareness, oblivious”.[3]
